How I usually work with juniors ?

1) A lot of written and oral communication at the start, but then I don’t micro-manage my team (I trust they deliver on time or tell me in advance if they won’t be able so I can manage our delay)

2) so once we’re good, I just expect a very, very short daily/weekly (depending on your contract) summary of your work in bullet points is enough for me

3) I sleep early and wake up early

4) I definitely don’t expect you to work during weekends (maybe really once if we get some pressure for some deadlines)

5) I definitely don’t expect you to work during the same hours as I do (hence, having a fixed summary time is cool; so you can put your Monday summary anytime on Monday, and I will check it early Tuesday)

6) I usually have a lot of commitments during the day, so I cannot review properly work in the middle of the day

7) I try to be available as continuously as possible to answer any questions by email

8) I am happy to meet once per week over Zoom (I work mostly remotely usually) if needed

9) You’re here to learn, so if there is any area you want to push yourself, definitely tell me so I can see how we accommodate that (as long as we don’t get late)

10) I am happy to help you with mentoring, like meeting once per month for 15-30 minutes for any pro questions not related to the project if we are productive enough and if you think I can help
